// how this pays for itself

Affiliate disclosure

The trainer is free and always will be. Here is exactly where the money comes from.

The short version

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Some links on this site (every link on the Gear page, and any product link elsewhere) are paid affiliate links carrying the tag trainingsharks-20. If you buy something after clicking one, Amazon pays us a small commission. You pay the same price either way.

We are an affiliate, not a shop

Amazon is the seller. Amazon takes your money, ships the item, and handles returns and warranty. We hold no inventory, fulfil no orders, and have no access to your order or payment details. If something goes wrong with a purchase, Amazon is who you need.

What the commission does not buy

  • It does not change what the trainer tells you. Every equity and EV figure comes from the engine. No product placement has ever moved a number, and there is no mechanism by which it could.
  • It does not buy a recommendation. Nobody has paid us to feature a product, and no brand has been contacted, briefed, or given a preview.
  • It does not buy a review score. We do not score products. The notes on the Gear page are opinions about categories of object, not verdicts we are pretending to have tested.

About the product data

Prices, ratings and review counts were read directly from the live Amazon listing on the date shown against each product, currently 2026-08-09. Nothing is estimated or remembered. Prices change constantly and ours will go stale; treat every figure as "at time of writing" and trust the price on Amazon, not the price here.

What we will not link to

No real-money poker rooms, no casinos, no gambling affiliate programmes of any kind. That is where the large commissions in this niche live, and it is a deliberate refusal: this is a study tool, and pointing students at a cashier would make it something else.
